October Update

Hey there gang-

-This past October, the present draft of the movie was not in a satisfactory condition for public viewing and consequently not in any condition to be submitted to any festivals at that time, especially any in Park City. Because of this, the film will not be going to Park City until next year, God willing. The film will still have its World Premiere in March at the Bethesda Theatre Café, Bethesda, Maryland (hopefully).

In any case, Lethal Force, Version 1.0 is currently being tidied up and will be sent off to Music Man Mike post haste, along with any festivals with impending deadlines. The absolute final version 2.0 with additional scenes will be completely finished by February.

-Speaking of which, the new opening and flashback scenes have been postponed until December. The original days in August were cancelled due to some schedule conflicts on Frank's part.

There had been some controversy over the homoerotic nature of the flashbacks because of some concerns of Frank's agent, so certain is she that Frank will be more popular than Jesus. The original sequence, which would have ended with Frank and Cash wrestling in their underwear, was then replaced with scenes of them wearing tight pastel tank tops and ass-hugging cut-offs while shopping for knick-knacks at The Pottery Barn, finally climaxing in a parade of leather fetish gear. The new sequence will now be more heterosexual, with only lots of suggestive, prolonged hugging.

-Action Man Eric's flick 23 HOURS continues to tear it up with a great screening at this year's B-movie festival; an all-around fave, Eric's film lost out to the Billy Zane vanity film I WOKE UP EARLY THE DAY I DIED which was based on a lost Ed Wood script. With an all-star cast and 3 million dollar budget, the jury felt that this was the kind of quiet, shoe-string cinema that should be emulated by indie filmmakers everywhere.

Still, 23 HOURS received a glowing review in this month's issue of "Shock Cinema"- a magazine not known for pulling its punches and available at a Borders or Tower records near you- and a juicy January slot in the upcoming screening schedule of the Washington Psychotronic Film Society in Washington, DC.

-In other crew news, Producer Man Kent's new documentary HANDICAMP was also recently completed. Destined to make a big splash on the festival circuit, no less an authority than Andrew Sarris of the esteemed French film journal "Cahiers du Cinema" praised the film, noting its bold use of over-the-counter cold remedies and graphic monkey buggering.

-Director Alvin had a dog once and it wasn't pretty. It formed the basis of his hit film MY DOG HAS A CYST and you can read all about this epic film and the courageous dog that held back the Nazi War Machine in the waning days of WW2 at www.crosswinds.net/~piranhapictures/Poopie.htm

-Andy "Mal" Hewitt has become a West coast success story, scoring a recurring bit on "The West Wing" and the Sci-Fi Channel's "The Invisible Man". In January, Andy will start working behind the scenes as 2nd A.D. and in various other capacities with Stu Segall Productions. On the flip side, fey goon and fellow East coast expatriate Dave Venafro continues to be unemployable and has been forced to find work as a towel boy in a West Hollywood bathhouse; "It's a living" the now curiously bow-legged Venafro says.

Until I write again, I remain-
